Laravel Development Cost in 2026 — Project Budgets from MVP to SaaS

Real 2026 project budgets: what an MVP, admin panel, e-commerce build or full SaaS platform costs in Laravel, what drives the price up, the five hidden costs most quotes leave out and how to plan the budget for your first build.

How much does it cost to build a Laravel application?

It is the first question every founder and CTO asks — and the honest answer has three layers: the hourly rate, the project budget and the total cost of ownership. This guide gives you real 2026 numbers for project budgets: what an MVP, an admin panel, an e-commerce build or a full SaaS platform costs, what drives the price up and which costs most quotes quietly leave out.

The numbers below come from my own price list and from public rate cards of Polish and Western agencies — so you can benchmark any quote you receive, not just mine.

Rates first, in one paragraph

A senior Laravel developer in Poland bills 90–160 PLN/h (≈ €21–37); a Polish software house 120–220 PLN/h, Western European agencies €60–120/h and US agencies $100–180/h. That spread is not random — it tracks seniority and how much of the process (architecture, tests, CI/CD, communication) is included. If your question is specifically about hiring — rates by model, in-house cost, freelancer vs agency — see Laravel Developer Cost in 2026: Rates, Models and TCO and Laravel Developer Salary in Poland. This article is about what a project costs to build.

Engagement models and what each one really costs

  • Hourly (T&M) — 90–160 PLN/h. You pay for actual work. Best when the scope evolves or you are adding to an existing application. Risk: the final bill depends on how well the scope is managed.
  • Fixed price — the vendor carries the estimation risk. An MVP typically starts at ~30,000 PLN (≈ €7,000); smaller modules and integrations from 15,000 PLN. Best when the scope is well defined and stable.
  • Monthly retainer — from ~2,000 PLN/month (≈ €470) for a package of hours. Best after launch: the application keeps evolving without renegotiating every change.
  • White-label / team augmentation — from ~3,600 PLN/month (≈ €840) for 40 h, for agencies that need backend capacity under their own brand.

A fixed price is not automatically cheaper than hourly — it is the same work plus a risk premium. What you buy with fixed price is predictability, and that is often worth the premium for a first project with a new vendor.

What does a Laravel project actually cost to build?

Realistic 2026 ranges for the most common project types

Project type Budget range (net) Timeline
MVP (one core process, one integration) 30,000–60,000 PLN (≈ €7,000–14,000) 6–10 weeks
Admin panel / back-office 5,000–40,000 PLN 3–8 weeks
API + integrations (ERP, CRM, payments) 15,000–50,000 PLN per integration set 3–8 weeks
E-commerce on Laravel (custom B2B) 40,000–150,000 PLN 2–5 months
Full SaaS platform (multi-tenant, billing, panel) 80,000–250,000 PLN+ 4–9 months
Project takeover + audit from 2,000 PLN (audit) 3–5 days (audit)

The single biggest cost driver is not the technology — it is scope clarity. Two “identical” MVPs can differ threefold in price because one client arrives with a defined process and the other discovers requirements during development. A free scope analysis before the quote is what keeps you on the lower end of every range above.

What drives the price up

  • Custom business logic — pricing engines, approval workflows, commission calculations: everything that cannot be solved with a ready-made module.
  • Integrations — each external system (ERP, marketplace, payment provider, courier) adds analysis, mapping, error handling and monitoring.
  • Compliance — GDPR, audit trails, role separation and data residency requirements add design and documentation work.
  • Legacy context — if the new application must cooperate with an old system, add an audit and a strangler-fig migration plan.
  • Performance requirements — large catalogs, high traffic or real-time features require queues (Laravel Horizon), caching with Redis and load testing.

Hidden costs most quotes leave out

  1. Maintenance: 15–20% of the build cost per year. Dependencies need updates, PHP versions reach end of life, and security patches are not optional. Budget it from day one.
  2. Infrastructure — hosting, database, Redis, backups and monitoring: typically 200–1,500 PLN/month depending on scale.
  3. Third-party services — payment fees, e-invoicing (KSeF in Poland), email/SMS providers, error monitoring.
  4. Scope creep — the quiet killer. A fixed-price contract with a change-request process protects both sides.
  5. Vendor lock-in — if the code and documentation are not contractually yours, the “cheap” build becomes expensive at the first handover.

How to budget your first Laravel project

  1. Write down the one process the application must do on day one — not the full vision.
  2. Ask for a scope analysis and a budget range before committing to a quote.
  3. Split the build into modules with acceptance criteria, so you can stop or re-prioritise safely.
  4. Add 15–20% per year for maintenance and infrastructure to your three-year plan.
  5. Compare quotes on deliverables (tests, CI/CD, documentation, code ownership), not on the hourly rate alone.
  • A practical benchmark: if a quote is 30% below every other quote for the same scope, the difference is almost always missing tests, documentation or seniority — and you will pay it back during the first serious change.

Frequently asked questions

How much does it cost to hire a Laravel developer?

  • In Poland: 90–160 PLN/h for a senior freelancer, 120–220 PLN/h at a software house. Western European agencies charge €60–120/h and US agencies $100–180/h. Monthly, a full-time senior developer costs roughly 15,000–27,000 PLN in Poland.

How much does a Laravel MVP cost?

A focused MVP — one core process, one integration, a simple panel — costs 30,000–60,000 PLN net and takes 6–10 weeks. The number grows with the number of integrations, custom workflows and compliance requirements, not with the framework itself.

Is Laravel cheaper than Node.js or Python for a web application?

The framework licence is free in every case, so the cost difference comes from rates and development speed. Laravel’s batteries-included approach (authentication, queues, admin tooling like Filament) typically shortens delivery for business applications, which usually matters more than the hourly rate difference between stacks.

What does Laravel maintenance cost after launch?

Plan 15–20% of the build cost per year, or a retainer from ~2,000 PLN/month. That covers dependency and PHP upgrades, security patches, monitoring and a pool of hours for small changes. Skipping maintenance does not save money — it defers it into an emergency budget.

Why do Laravel development quotes differ so much?

Because scope clarity differs. A quote built on a defined process with acceptance criteria is comparable; a rough estimate “for an app like Uber” is not. Always compare deliverables: automated tests, CI/CD, documentation, code ownership and who carries the estimation risk.
